Labor Relations Specialist

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Labor Relations Specialist located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana through March 23, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:**

Manage labor relations and union negotiations

Develop and maintain the labor relations strategy for Oak Point in collaboration with leadership (including the Workforce Management Committee and Labor Relations Strategy Team).

Lead the development and execution of strategies and plans related to labor negotiations, including regular labor contract renewals.

Establish and maintain effective labor/management relations and partnerships with business leaders and union leadership.

Counsel management on labor contract interpretation and administration, and labor and employment law.

Prepare, present and work with internal and external experts (labor relations, legal counsel) regarding investigations, arbitrations, NLRB, EEOC and state EEO agency proceedings.

Assist the business in resolving grievances and other labor issues, including arbitration.

Oversee O&M promotion process utilizing current MOA practices and guidelines.

Manage employee relations

Work with line managers and employees to address and resolve all types of employee relations issues, ensuring balance in representing all parties' interests.

Investigate employee complaints and claims; counsels managers and supervisors. Identifies potential risks/impacts of case to parties involved.

Facilitate discussions between employees and/or supervisors on items of a more complex nature; handles cases using conflict resolution principles and tools.

Provide counsel to supervisors on the performance management processes involving general employment law.

Counsel on general employment law and company policy/practices in variety of situations.

Support management with hiring, transfers, and promotions.

HR leadership and generalist

Demonstrate day-to-day leadership within the Human Resources team including leading HR projects.

Advise and assist supervisors and management in the interpretation and application of HR policies.

**Required Qualifications:**

Minimum 5 years experience with Labor Relations, including experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical or refinery experience preferred) required

Experience in employment law, NLRB rulings, employee relations, compensation, employee development, staffing/retention efforts, EEO, AAP and other compliance subject

Labor relations (LR) and negotiating experience, preferably at a leadership level locally or national bargaining event(s)

Demonstrated ability to build relationships, based on trust and respect, at every level of the organization

Demonstrated experience in dealing with diverse work groups, resolution of difficult and sensitive issues or disputes, employee and supervisor counseling

Project management expertise

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Bachelors degree in HR Management, Labor Relations or related field, preferred
